Feb. 25th PrepVolleyball.com’s High School Volleyball Academic All Americans are presented in five teams of eight plus a “Highest Honorable Mention” category. Here are NKYVC's 2009 PrepVolleyball.com High School Volleyball Academic All-Americans. Congratulations to all!

• Leslie Schellhaas:5-3 Libero NKYVC 18-1 -Morehead State-Notre Dame Academy (Covington KY) –Selfless and hard working, Schellhaas anchored the back row for the Pandas in 2009. She amassed 526 digs and received 527 serves, earning Region 9 Player of the Year recognition. She also was First Team All Area and First Team All State. Possessing a 3.9 GPA, Schellhaas is as dedicated in the classroom as she is on the court. She is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and Life Club.
• Lauren Marlatt: 5-10 OH NKYVC 18-1-Withrop University- Ursuline Academy  (Cincinnati OH) – A senior Co-Captain for the Lions, Marlatt had 221 kills and 39 blocks for the 29-0 Division I state champions, who were ranked No. 2 nationally in the final PrepVolleyball.com release. Honorable Mention All GGCL, Marlatt is a brainiac with a 3.9 unweighted GPA who scored a 32 on the ACT test. A National Merit Scholar, Marlatt has won every Scholar Athlete Award possible in the state of Ohio. She hopes to be a veterinarian one day.
• Liz Barton: 6-3 MB NKYVC 18-1, Notre Dame Academy (Covington KY) – Named All Conference, All Region and All Area and Second Team All State, Barton had 320 kills, 153 digs and 41 solo blocks in 2009 for one of Kentucky’s elite teams. She will play volleyball at South Florida in 2010, but has earned a full academic scholarship on the basis of her 4.112 GPA on a 4.0 scale. She has taken multiple collegiate-level classes  and is a member of the National Honor Society. A student ambassador at Notre Dame, Barton also volunteers at Peaslee Neighborhood Center, where she works with underprivileged children.

Dec. 30th: NKYVC 18-1 RANKED #29 in the nation, 16-1 and 15-1 get national props HONORABLE MENTION from Prepvolleyball to make some noise on the the national front.

Dec. 31st 2009: NKYVC 18-1 Lauren O'Conner lands on the Class of 2011 Top 50 Recruits Nationally! The top 50 is presented by Nfinity and PrepVolleyball.com. WOW LAUREN!!

Dec. 19th: 22 NKYVC Athletes named Kentucky Enquirer and Ohio Enquirer VOLLEYBALL ALL STARS WAY TO GO GIRLS!

• Kentucky Enquirer All Stars Lauren O'Conner Enquirer Player of the Year; FIRST TEAM HONORS: Leslie Schellhaas, Natalie Penrod, Lauren O'Conner, Liz Barton, Cayla Flood, Erin Fortner.

Dec. 17th: 6'5 standout Lauren O'Conner (NKYVC 18-1) is invited to participate in the USAV High Performance Holiday Camp in Colorado Springs.

Nov. 16, 2009: Former NKYVC Alumni and Morehead State University Standout-Annie Gruenschlaeger named national freshman block leader.
