About
the NKYVC Sprinkles program.....the program is designed
to introduce the sport of volleyball
to the youngest of athletes.
Our program is developmentally geared towards those players
in grades Pre Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. While recognizing the physical
limitations these young athletes face the coaches and staff
also
realize the potential to teach the fundamentals of not only
volleyball but overall athletics. Movement, Lower nets, special balls and techniques
are used
to facilitate the youngsters in learning the skills.
The NKYVC Sprinkles program
is not only one of a kind for the Greater Cincinnati area
but also one
of only a few in
the entire
country. Our Sprinkles program is in its 13th
year. Several of our athletes come back each year they are eligible.
Others who
are too old for Sprinkles can now be found on NKYVC's 9-under, 10-under USA Teams.
Sprinkles Membership Fees are ($95.00) which includes the

1st & 2nd Grade

The eight, one hour long sessions are designed to introduce
all of the volleyball skills. The athletes will learn the
basics of passing, serving, setting, hitting, defense, and
court awareness.
They will also get the experience of being on a team in a
structured and disciplined setting. Each session includes
warm up, stretching,
skill work and cool down.
Players in the Sprinkles program should be able to focus
for one hour periods. They are also expected to be on time to
each session and to be respectful to their
fellow
teammates and coaches. While attendance at each session is
not mandatory it is strongly encouraged to keep the knowledge
base on track for all attendees.
