SPECIAL MENTION
Congratulations to TAYLOR PRESTON and ABBY SCHAEFER
Taylor Preston, 6-0 MB. St. Henry (Erlanger, Kentucky) – Preston had a big season in leading the Crusaders to a 9th Region Championship and third place finish at the state tournament. The freshman recorded 244 kills and 74 blocks and was so good down the stretch that she earned All-Regional Tournament and All-State Tournament recognition. She is fast and aggressive on offense and also sports a big block.
Abby Schaefer, 5-9 libero, St. Henry (Erlanger, Kentucky) – Schaefer was third overall in the state of Kentucky with 269 digs and also was an anchor for the 9th Region champs in serve-receive. Described by NKYVC club director as a “must watch player” and an “unbelievable libero,” she made a huge impact for the Crusaders. “She has no fear as both a leader and the ability to control the floor,” Hunt added. “She covers a huge amount of court, making it hard for the offense to score.” Schaefer was voted to the 9th Region All-Tournament team.
